Fraser adds another offer

UPLAY Canada guard Marquell Fraser is another Canadian player making a name for himself during the AAU season. Fraser is getting closer to making a decision on his official visits as the AAU evaluation period nears its end.

Profile - Marquell Fraser

The second week of the July evaluation period led to another offer for Fraser. “Georgia Tech Coach (Mamadou) N’Diaye called my coach to let him know that they really liked my guard play and he extended an offer.” Marquell was excited to be offered by an ACC school. “It’s a great offer.”

Coach N’Diaye and Marquell have talked in the past. “He told me he likes my court awareness and my ball handling skills.” At 6’5”-200, Marquell can create an advantage over other point guards. Fraser can also be used at the off guard position.

Of the schools recruiting him, Marquell feels that Georgia Tech, DePaul, Iowa, and Memphis are the schools showing him the most interest. Fraser will wait until the end of the evaluation period before he decides which schools he’ll visit. “I’ll get with my family and coaches to narrow it down to a top five. Those schools will be the schools where I’ll take my official visits.” Fraser plans to sign in the early signing period.

Marquell has a good idea of what he’ll be looking for in making his college choice. “I really like a school that is in a big city.” Fraser will also be looking for a school that has a strong business program.

On the court, Fraser also has a set of factors that he’ll be looking for from the schools he visits. "I’ll look to see what players are already on the team and how the team is doing.” Marquell wants a coaching staff that develops players and gets them to the next level. Location will not be an issue for Fraser. “I’ll play in any area of the country.” Top Stories
