Cole excited about his future

When we last talked to Norcross, GA defensive back Jarett Cole, he had trimmed his offer list to Georgia Tech and Kansas State. Thursday Jarett and his dad made the short trip to Atlanta to meet with the Tech coaches.

Cole met with Coach Ted Roof and they also talked to Coach Brad Waggoner. “I told them I wanted to end my recruitment by committing to Georgia Tech.”

The coaches were excited with Cole’s decision and talked with him about what he could expect from Georgia Tech. They also discussed what they are expecting from him as a defensive back. “They told me I would play in both the nickel and dime packages.” Jarett feels that playing in those packages would get him on the field the quickest. “My dad and I were happy that Coach Roof already has a game plan for the incoming freshmen.”

Prior to making the decision, Jarett had been thinking about all the things Georgia Tech and the football program could offer him. “A few days ago I made up my mind and set up the trip.” Jarett is excited about his future after making the decision.

The academics at Tech along with the support system was one of the factors that led to Jarett committing to Tech. He also liked the direction that the football program was heading. Being close to home was also a big factor. “It will be easy for my family to see me play. That is important to me.”

Cole has been in touch with fellow commit Xavier Gantt during his recruitment. “He’s working hard to get players to commit to Tech.” Peachtree Ridge corner Baylen Buchanan is one of those recruits. “I’d love for Baylen to be part of the class.”

Look for Jarett to be back on campus once the season opens. “I know I’ll be at the Florida State game as well as some other games.” Top Stories
