Josh and his CP3 teammates made it to the semi-finals of the Nike Peach Jam where they lost a heartbreaker. “The AAU season helped me continue to improve my basketball skills and it also helped my recruitment.”

A four school final list was recently announced by Josh. He has now added a fifth school. “I’ve added Florida to my list.” The other four schools on the list are Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Tennessee, and Tulsa. “These will be the five schools I will look at in making my college decision.”

All five schools are looking at Josh to play the two or the shooting guard position. Georgia Tech and Tulsa are two of the schools that Josh sees as needing immediate help at that position. “I don’t want to say they are my top two. All five schools are on equal footing as I begin my visits.”

At this time, Kansas State is the only school that Josh has scheduled for an official visit. He will visit Kansas State on September 19th. Josh is not sure about the other visits. “I know I can visit Georgia Tech whenever I want. They are only 30 minutes away.”

Okogie feels that he has built good relationships with the staffs at all five schools. He plans to make his college decision in November. “I don’t see me taking it out to the April signing period.”

Josh is looking at several factors that will separate his college choice from the other four schools. “"I want to go to a school that I can come in and make an impact as a freshman.” Josh will also be looking for a school where he feels comfortable as well as a school that plays in one of the top basketball conferences. “I want to be able to play against top competition.”
