Utah State, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Texas Tech, Georgia Tech, New Mexico State, and St. Bonaventure are some of the schools that offered Koby during the AAU season. “The schools that stand out are Wake Forest, Utah State, and Georgia Tech.” Koby also has Texas Tech in the mix.

McEwen has set up official visits to three of those schools. Koby will be visiting Wake Forest August 28, Utah State, September 2, and Georgia Tech October 2.

There has been talk that Utah State and Wake were McEwen’s leaders. Koby dispelled those rumors. “In no particular order, Utah State, Wake and Georgia Tech are my leaders.”

Koby will not shy away from schools that are recruiting players at his position. That will not be a factor for Koby in making his decision. “I’m willing to play for whichever school needs me the most.”

Playing time, his role on the team, and the environment are three of the factors that Koby will be looking at in choosing a school. “I want a coach who wants me to get to the next level.” The facilities and his academic interest in the school will also be factors for Koby. Kinesiology and entrepreneurship are two of Koby’s academic interests.

The coaching staff at Georgia Tech has stayed in touch with Koby. “They talk to me about being able to impact the team as a freshman.”

At one time Koby was planning to make a November decision. Will that still be the case? “Right now I have no clue. Whenever it feels right, that is when I’ll commit.” Top Stories
