Profile - Kurt Taylor
Covington, Georgia junior running back Kurt Taylor is drawing interest from schools in the ACC, Big10, and SEC. Last Thursday evening the Newton High School recruit took an unofficial visit to one of those schools.
Taylor and a few of teammates made the trip across Interstate 20 to Atlanta to watch Georgia Tech play Alcorn State. “The time I spent there was amazing and exciting.” Taylor noticed the excitement in the air and how the fans were up for a game against a lesser opponent Taylor loved watching the Tech offense click even when the 2nd unit came into the game.
The play of Tech quarterback Justin Thomas stood out to Kurt as well as the play of the B Backs. “The offensive line dominated. It would be any running back’s dream to run behind that line.”
Kurt didn’t arrive at the game early enough to talk with the coaches but he did get to meet some of the other recruits. “We all loved what we saw. I plan on coming back for another game.” Kurt wants to make sure he gets to spend some time with the coaches and players on his next visit.
Tech is looking at Taylor at their B Back position. “I think I could come in and be a big part of the rotation at B Back.”
Four schools have gained Kurt’s attention. "Michigan, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt are really recruiting me hard right now. These four schools have really shown me that they want me there at their school."
As he begins to take a closer look at schools showing interest in him, Kurt will be looking for a school where he can major in sports management. Georgia Tech has shown Kurt how he can achieve that even though they are known as an engineering school. “The staff has shown me that you can become just about anything when you get your degree from Tech.”
