Jansen’s Chamblee team has gotten off to a 1-1 start. King is one of the leaders in the state in interceptions after those two games.

Saturday King made the short trip to Georgia Tech to watch them play Tulane. “The game atmosphere was great.” Jansen noticed the fan support and watched the team closely in their pre-game warm ups. “I loved watching Coach (Joe) Speed run the defensive backs through their drills.” Jansen liked seeing how well prepared they were.

The Tech fans welcomed Jansen with high fives before the game. “The fans really make it easy for the players to get up for the game.” King was also impressed with how Tech networks their athletes to help them find jobs. King met with Tech Coach Speed on the visit. The two talked about Jansen taking the ACT. Tech can’t offer Jansen until they see his test scores. “I’m scheduled to take it in early October. I will also take the SAT in October.”

When Tech plays Florida State later this season, Jansen will be making a return visit to watch the game. “I bet it will be an awesome experience.”

Aside from Tech, Georgia and Tennessee are the other schools that are recruiting Jansen the hardest at the present time. “I’m going to see Tennessee play South Carolina and I’ve been invited to the Georgia-Alabama game.”

Jansen will be looking for a school where he can get into the communications field. “I mentioned it to Coach Speed and he said Tech has former players in broadcasting. I was happy to hear that.”

His decision probably won’t come until after his senior season. “I want to have everything in place to make an informed decision.” Top Stories
