Profile - Donavaughn Campbell
Ponchatoula, Louisiana offensive lineman Donavaughn Campbell remains committed to LSU but that hasn’t stopped other schools from recruiting him. Campbell has four or five schools that are giving him something to think about.
Campbell considers himself a strong commit to LSU but that could change if certain things change. At this time, Donavaughn didn’t want to mention what those things would be . “I could see myself opening up my recruitment and there would be two schools on my radar. Those two schools would be Georgia Tech and LSU.”
Donavaughn’s brother Christian is a freshman at Georgia Tech. “He says he absolutely loves it at Georgia Tech and he never regrets the decision he made.”
Both Georgia Tech Coach Bryan Cook and Donavaughn have stayed in contact with each other. The two recently talked. “He said he’d love to have me at Tech and we talked about my season.” Donavaughn plans visit for the North Carolina game to see his brother, watch Tech play, and spend some time with all of the coaches.
Having his brother at Tech is an attraction for Donavaughn but he likes Tech for what it is. “Georgia Tech is a very good school that has a presence in Louisiana. I know there has been some good players from Louisiana that played at Tech.”
LSU and Tech aren’t the only schools talking to Campbell. “I’m hearing from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, and UCLA.” All four of those schools are trying to get visits from Donavaughn. “Still, LSU and Georgia Tech are my top schools. I still consider myself an LSU commit at this time.” Donavaughn is committed to the school and a coaching change would not have an immediate effect on his recruitment. "I would try and get to know the new staff if a change was made."
At the present time, Donavaughn is concentrating on his senior season and doesn’t want making a final decision to interfere with the team’s quest for a state title. “I feel January or on signing day would be the best time to make my final decision.” Donavaughn wants to make sure this important decision is the correct one.
