Grayson High School, GA defensive tackle Chris Martin and several of his teammates made the trip to Atlanta last Saturday to watch Georgia Tech play. Chris talked about the visit and one of those teammates that attended the game.

In spite of the game’s outcome, Chris enjoyed the visit. "Every time I visit Georgia Tech it is better than the previous time.” Martin mentioned that he and his fellow commits are aware of the issues Tech is facing this season. “We are firmly committed to Georgia Tech.”

Martin and his fellow commits have set up a group messaging system to stay in contact with one another. The group knows Tech isn’t having the season they wanted but they aren’t letting that influence them. “We are committed to coming to Tech to make our mark and build on what the team did last season.” Martin hasn’t looked back since he gave his commit to Coach Ted Roof.

Teammate Bryce Morais made the trip with Chris. The Grayson defensive end is a Boston College commit. Martin has been talking up Tech to Bryce and his teammates. “A lot of Grayson players like Tech because of the way they treated Shawn Green. They stuck with him through his injuries.” Martin would like to continue the Grayson pipeline to Georgia Tech.

A return visit for the Florida State and Georgia games is in the works for Chris. “It would be great to see us beat Georgia for the second straight season."

Martin and his teammates are undefeated thus far this season. Chris is looking forward to an upcoming game against Dacula and his future teammate Jakob Brashear. “It will be interesting playing against him and then a few months later having him as a teammate.”

At one time Martin had planned to enroll early at Tech. "I started too late to get the classes I needed. I'll graduate with my fellow Grayson classmates and enroll at Georgia Tech on June 22nd.”

Chris has grown to 6' 2"-265 pounds. “Coach Roof wants me to come in and play at around 280-285 pounds as a freshman . Coach Roof and Coach Mike Pelton are pleased with Martin’s progress.

Once Chris signs his letter of intent, he will begin following the conditioning, weight training, and nutrition program that Tech will send him. “I’ll have about four months to work on what they are expecting from me when I arrive at Tech.”
