Bridges has submitted all his paperwork and is set to enroll early at Tech. "I’m supposed to report January 10th for my first day and orientation.” Bridges and his teammates at Newnan have had a great season that had kept his mind on football rather than it being on leaving home soon. “Now that the playoffs are over, it will be nuts.”

The day he gave his commit to Tech, Bridges started thinking about enrolling early. “I've always been a person that pushes myself to be the best I can be no matter what I am doing."

The decision to enroll early was based on Bridges’ desire to get a few semesters under his belt before the start of fall practice. He’ll also have the opportunity to take part in spring practice. Bridges also looks forward to getting some early coaching from Coach Ted Roof and Coach Andy McCollum. “I think this a great way to go for me on so many levels."

The Georgia Tech coaches want Bridges to come in and make himself noticed . “They want me to have a great spring and push the other outside linebackers.” Bridges is looking forward to that opportunity."Competition will make the starter better and raise the level of play for the back-ups too so when they come in there isn't a drop off in play."

Bridges has kept a close watch on the Tech season and is aware of the issues that have led to the results this season. "I think it was a combination of playing so many freshmen and injuries.” Bridges feels that the freshmen were thrust into roles that are normally reserved for upperclassmen or players that have been red-shirted. “One of the reasons I wanted to come in early was to get the extra practice in the spring in order to help as much as I can as fast as I can.”

Will Bridges take a red-shirt? “I don’t know but I want to be ready to help as a starter, backup, or on special teams.” Bridges knows that if he shows that he deserves to play that he will be given that chance.
