With signing day just two months down the road, Niceville, Florida safety Romeo Finley is looking closely at the remaining schools on his list. One of those remaining schools visited Finley on Wednesday.

Georgia Tech Coach Ray Rychleski was in Niceville to meet with Romeo and his family. "Man it went much better than I thought it would. I loved my conversation with Coach Ray and what he had to say about Tech. To be honest, my dad really loved it.”

Romeo’s dad was prepared with a lot of questions about the education his son would receive. He also asked about the football program. “My dad listened intently to every answer and told me that he liked Georgia Tech and what Coach Ray had to say. He said to me, "I just met this man and I really like him". Coach Ray kept everything cool with us” Excellent was the word Romeo used to describe the visit.

Coach Ray let the Finley’s know that even though Georgia Tech is known as an engineering school, they have other valuable and prestigious degrees. The Business School is where I will be taking my classes and Coach Ray told us the school is highly ranked in the country but also worldwide.” That news was something Romeo’s dad loved hearing.

The group also talked about the Georgia Tech's depth chart. Georgia Tech loses all four starters in the secondary. Romeo sees the possibility of earning playing time as a freshman.

The social life was also a topic of discussion. Coach Ray let Romeo know that he would have just about everything he wants on campus or just a short ride away. “Dad loved how Coach Ray handled those questions and he presented the answers to him that really satisfied him. I know dad likes Georgia Tech a lot."

The chance for early playing time was one of things that caught Romeo’s attention in the discussion with Coach Ray. Hearing that he could get his major at Georgia Tech was also important to Romeo too. “My dad loved that Coach (Paul) Johnson brings in CEOs for the upperclassmen to talk to the players that are about to graduate. He was also impressed with the co-op programs Georgia Tech sets up for the players.”

Did the visit help Georgia Tech in their recruitment of Romeo? "Right now they are my leader. My dad absolutely loves the school and Coach Ray." In addition to Tech, Romeo is also looking at Clemson, Florida, Louisville, and Miami. Georgia Tech is the only school that Romeo has scheduled for an official visit. “It will be on January 15th. I‘m looking forward to making the trip in January with my mom and dad.

Romeo has not set up a specific date to make his college choice. "I know it will be before signing day and possibly before I make any official visits.” Finley has an idea of which school he likes and he may just pull the trigger and commit. “If I don't, it will be right after my last official visit."
