Martin Can't Wait To Be A Jacket

Grayson High School (GA) defensive tackle Chris Martin was one of the first commits in the Georgia Tech 2016 class. This past weekend Martin and many of his fellow commits took their official visits to Tech.

The visit left Martin looking forward to the day he enrolls at Tech. “The trip was amazing. Just when I think it can’t get better, I visit Tech and it was better than the last time I was there.” Chris is excited about his future at Tech. “I felt a connection with the commits and I also feel we can flip some of the other recruits.”

The highlight of the trip for Chris was putting on the Tech jersey. “The feeling I got was overwhelming.” Chris can’t wait to put on that jersey and help Tech win games. He has been working out on his own to get ready to push for playing time when he enrolls. “I talked with Steve Dolphus and he is doing the same thing.”

While on the visit, Martin talked a lot with recruits Brandon Adams and Jordan Woods. “I know they had a great time. We talked about playing on the defensive line together.” Chris worked both players hard while he was with them knowing that they still had to take additional visits. “I feel good about our chances with them. I’m excited about this class.”

Martin’s parents also made the trip to Tech. “They’re in love with Tech and Coach (Mike) Pelton.” His parents both feel that Coach Pelton and Coach (Ted) Roof will make their son a better player. “They love the fact that Coach (Paul) Johnson will make sure that I stay on top of my school work.”

Chris was hosted on the trip by his longtime friend Kyle Cerge-Henderson. “He always makes me feel at home when I visit Tech.” Chris feels that he and Kyle have a lot in common and that they’re the same type of player. “I guess that’s why we’re so tight.”

Now that his visit is over, Chris will continue to recruit the players that Tech is targeting. “After that, there is nothing left but for me to sign my LOI and officially become a Georgia Tech football player and student. I can’t wait.” Top Stories
