When we talked to Josh, he said that he and fellow signee and Wheeler post player Romello White had been watching Tech basketball. “Other than that, I’m getting ready to start my career at Georgia Tech.”

Now that his season is over, Coach Gregory has suggested to Josh that he take a few weeks off to relax and enjoy himself before he gets to Tech. “We talked about weight training and conditioning that I will be doing once I enroll.” Okogie and White have been watching the Tech games to see what they’ll need to do to prepare themselves. “I know I’ll be working hard once the fall comes.”

Josh will be starting his career at Tech this summer. “I want to get myself acclimated to the life of a college student.” Josh is looking to get off on the right foot academically before he starts his basketball career.

Coach Gregory has talked to Josh about the perimeter players that they’ll be losing following this season. “He wants me to come in with the mindset that I will make an immediate impact.” The two also talked about how playing time will be determined by how hard Josh works. “I fully understand that and I will make it hard for the staff to keep me off the court."

The plan for Josh is to start his career at shooting guard. “Coach wants me to keep working on my ball handling skills so that I could possibly slide over to the point.” Josh also has the skills to play small forward. “I would match up well at small forward.”

In addition to hanging out with Romello, Josh has also kept in touch with Tech signee Christian Matthews. The three have been watching Tech games to see how they would fit in with the team. “The closer it gets to my reporting time, the more excited I get.”
Okogie is happy with his decision to attend Tech. “I think the staff is great and the guys on the team are great.” Josh like the 2016 class and feels that they’ll come in and make a difference. “We have some young guys like Ben, Tadric, and Quinton that have valuable minutes playing in the toughest conference in the country. We will gel and we should be a good team.” Top Stories
