Belfry, Kentucky offensive lineman Cole Bentley has a long list of mid-major offers. Cole is now getting attention from P5 schools and received an offer from one of them on a recent visit.

Bentley was in Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech and watch them practice. His high school runs a similar offense so Cole was anxious to watch Tech practice. “I was amazed at the precision of the offense and the speed of it. You could tell both sides of the ball are well coached at Tech."

Meeting with the coaches was also a part of the visit for Bentley. Cole met with Coach Paul Johnson, Coach Mike Sewak, and Coach Brad Waggoner.

Coach Johnson extended an offer to Bentley during their meeting. “He said he was extending an offer and he was ready to take my commitment. “The way he offered was a first for me.” Coach Johnson was impressed with Cole’s athleticism.

Coach Sewak talked with Cole about the position he would play if he committed to Tech. “He said they liked their guards to be big and athletic.” At 6’4 ½”-305, Bentley fits that description. Coach Sewak will be staying in touch with Cole to let him know how much Tech wants his commitment.

Coach Waggoner and Cole covered the academic side of things. “He explained to me what a Tech degree means and how being a student and an athlete go hand in hand at Tech.”

The coaches also invited Cole back for another visit. "I see myself coming back to Atlanta.” Cole comes from a rural small town but he like what he saw from Atlanta. “The campus is a nice fit and I can see myself going there without any problems.”

Marshall and Toledo are the two schools that Cole feels are recruiting him the hardest right now. Louisville and Navy are the two visits that Cole has planned following the Tech visit. “I’ve had some conversations with Florida and we might go down there.” Florida State has let Cole know that they will be coming up to visit in May.

The offer from Tech gave Bentley 19 offers. Cole is still gathering information from schools and is not ready to name any favorites at this time. Cole hopes to sit down with his parents in July and make his decision. Bentley plans to visit some summer camps prior to making his decision.

Cole will be looking for a school that shows him that they really want him. He’s also looking for a family atmosphere and a school where he feels comfortable.
