Allen made the short trip from Buford to Atlanta to watch the Georgia Tech spring game. "It was a fun and very relaxing visit. We got a chance to watch the Tech squads battle it out to wrap up their spring practice.”
Before the game, Mike met with defensive line coach Mike Pelton and defensive coordinator Ted Roof.
The three caught up with each other and talked about how everything was going. “Coach Pelton said he would love to work with me at defensive end and Coach Roof says he wants me to be at Georgia Tech for my college career.” Allen spent most of his time with Coach Roof who is also his recruiting coach.
The visit to Tech was Allen’s last visit for the spring. Mike and his Lanier teammates are getting ready to start their spring practices. The coaches talked to Mike about making a return visit. “I'm sure I will be returning for another visit to talk to the coaches.” Allen will have to decide when the right time will be to take that visit.
The offer list for Allen has grown to 24. “It’s been great seeing the number of schools that have offered me.” Mike expects more offers will be added to that list before he makes his decision. Tennessee, Wake Forest, Georgia, Arkansas and Nebraska are some of the schools that send Allen the most recruiting material. Notre Dame is also starting to go hard after Allen. Coach Roof has stayed in touch with Mike. “He makes sure that I know that he wants me at Tech.”
Allen is not ready to name any favorites at this time. "This is a big decision and I want it to be right so I’m going to take my time and make sure when I do pick a school, it is the right choice the first time." Mike doubts that he’ll make that decision before he goes back to school. Whenever he feels the time is right, he’ll make the decision. “I haven't made a top list or anything even for me to think over to be honest."
