Collin Sexton is making visits and plans to make a decision in July

Pebblebrook High School, Georgia and Southern Stampede guard Collin Sexton is one of the recruits that has made the most of the first two weeks of the AAU evaluation period. He’s now getting attention from schools around the country. Last week, he visited one of those schools.

Collin and his parents made the short trip to Atlanta last Friday to visit Georgia Tech. They both enjoyed the visit. "The only bad part was that it was hard to get around because of graduation.” The Sextons walked around the campus looking at the facilities and met with the coaches.

Coach Josh Pastner and newly hired assistant coach Darryl LaBarrie both spent time with Collin. Coach LaBarrie will be working with the guards and he talked to Collin about the rich Tech history at that position. Collin was impressed by the list that he heard. “Coach LaBarrie said he really loved my game and would be able to help me improve my game even more.”

Sexton described the time he spent with Coach Pastner as “great”. Coach Pastner is impressed with Sexton’s game, motor, and high energy. “He said he could help certain aspects of my game to elevate it to an even higher level and make me an even better player. He would love to get me there and make me
into that player."

The previous staff at Tech had offered Collin and now Coach Pastner and his staff are making Collin a priority. The Tech offer is one of 25 that Collin has received thus far. It would not be a surprise to see more come his way.

Prior to his visit to Tech, Alabama, Florida, Arizona, Kansas, and Iowa State were the schools that Collin felt were really turning up the heat in his recruitment. Collin feels that Tech will join that group. “When you talk to Coach Pastner, you can tell he is a high energy guy. I feel he’ll also be recruiting me hard."

Following the visit to Tech, Collin plans to take two additional visits. "Right now I know I’m going to Texas A&M for a visit and I may head down to Florida for a visit."

The Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina marks the end of the Nike AAU circuit. Collin will be using that tournament as a time frame for making his college decision. “My decision will be either right before or right after the Peach Jam.”

Collin will be looking for a guard friendly school when he makes his college choice. “I want to be able to come in and play right away for a good team that plays in a good conference.” Top Stories
