Profile - Dameon Williams
Norcross High School (GA) is known for producing division one talent. This year is no different. Corner Dameon Williams is one of those recruits. Williams is getting ready to visit one of the schools that is showing him interest.
Dameon and his mom will be making the short trip to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech this Saturday. This will be a return visit for Dameon. "I’m going to check out everything and get re-acquainted with the coaching staff and the school. Williams last visited Tech for their second Junior Day. Dameon is looking forward to talking with Coach Ted Roof.
Five or six school have been pursuing Williams. Tech, Indiana, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, and Wake Forest have recruited Dameon. Tech, Indiana, Michigan State, and Wake are in his final four. At this point in his recruitment, Williams doesn’t see any additional schools entering the picture. “I feel those schools will be my final four.” Dameon is ready to concentrate on those schools as he nears a decision. “I’ve maintained that I wanted a stress free senior season and I’m keeping that in place.”
Wake Forest is another ACC school that Dameon and his mom are trying to visit. They are the newest school to turn up their recruitment that is on his list. A date hasn’t been set. “I’d like to get up there and visit the campus and talk to the coaches.”
Finding a school where he has a good relationship with the coaches, players, and students will be something Dameon will be looking at in making his decision. This will be especially true for his relationship with his recruiting coach. Getting a first class education will also be a factor. “I don’t see why more recruits don’t look for a school where they can get a good education.”
Former teammate and incoming Tech freshman Jarett Cole has been trying to convince Dameon that Tech is where he needs to be. The two talk all the time. “He’s still recruiting me (laughing).”
