Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and South Carolina are a few of the schools that have offered Kendric. “The Georgia Tech offer was one I wasn't expecting.” When Haynes talked to Tech Coach Roof he became very interested in what Coach Roof told him about Tech. Haynes visited Tech in June for their summer camp. “A bunch of us visited LSU, Auburn, Alabama and we added Georgia Tech and South Carolina to our visits.”

Kendric liked being in the big city and still being able to have the old fashioned college town feel that Tech has. “Coach Roof really had some good things to say about the school and how I would be a good fit in their defense.” Tech likes Kendric as a middle linebacker. When watching his film, the Tech coaches saw that he had good instincts and that he was a hard-nosed tackler. “Coach Roof also liked my size and speed.”

The family feel was one thing that stood out to Haynes on his visit to Tech. “I like that they have everything right there for you.” Kendric hopes to be able to be able to get a chance to see more of the campus and the school. “I want to and I might be coming back to Tech again.”

Haynes made the trip to Tech with teammate Neil Farrell. The teammates have talked about possibly playing their college ball at the same school. “Right now it seems that schools that need linebackers are full or are close to being full but have openings on the defensive line.” Haynes and Farrell are going to continue to look at schools and see if it can happen. “If it doesn't happen, then we’ll still be good friends and stay in touch with one another."

Kendric hasn’t decided on an exact date to make his college decision. “I think it could be sometime after my season starts or even a few days or weeks after the season. I don't want to drag it too far past the end of my season."

When decision time comes, Kendric will be looking to his parents to help with the decision. Kendric is looking for a school that will give him a chance to get on the field early. “I can work hard and show
that I belong on the field. I just want a chance to prove it.” The last thing Kendric will be looking for is the chance to play the middle linebacker position.

Will there be any pressure on Kendric to stay in-state? If Kendric chooses an in-state school, it will be because he feels it’s the best fit. "I’m the one having to put in the work and be there for four to five years."
