McEachern High School (GA) cornerback Jaytlin Askew gave his verbal commit to Georgia Tech in June. Since then, Askew has remained firmly committed to Tech. Askew has also taken a role in helping to build the Tech 2017 recruiting class.
Askew’s senior season has been one in which he’s been challenged every week and he has come out on top in each of those games. “This season has been a real good building block for me heading into Georgia Tech."
The Tech coaches and Jaytlin talk on a regular basis. They have also communicated by mail and have been at his home games. “It is great to look up in the stands and see them. That really let me know they want me at Georgia Tech." Jaytlin remains 100% committed to Tech. “I can't imagine myself playing for another college team. I love Tech that much."
After committing to Tech, Jaytlin has reached out and stayed in touch with the other recruits. He’s met almost every one of the 2017 class. “We are all alike and we have the same goal. We want to make the team better.” Jaytlin and his future teammates are also looking to exceed their potential once they get to Tech.
Jaytlin has kept a close eye on the Tech 2016 season. He has been to all of the home games thus far. “They have played some of the best teams in the nation and have held their own.” Living close to campus, Jaytlin has also been able to make frequent visits to campus. “Sometimes I just pop up at Georgia Tech and they welcome me regardless if it is game day or not. I know Georgia Tech is my home away from home for sure."
December 3rd is the date Jaytlin has set up for his official visit. Jaytlin plans to use that weekend to help recruit any of the uncommitted players that are visiting that weekend. “My message will be that there is no better school for football and academics.”
