Tre and Georgia Tech Coach Ted Roof have stayed in constant contact since giving Tech his verbal. “He's like family to me and I know I will be in good hands once I get to Georgia Tech.” Coach Roof was a big reason Swilling committed to Tech. The football program’s tradition, the academic reputation of the school, and the doors the school opens to grads also played big roles in Tre’s decision.
The role as a recruiter for Tech is still a big part of Tre’s routine. Tre has stayed in touch with several recruits. Malik Willis and Ben Hutch are two of those recruits. There are also several unnamed recruits that Tre is helping to recruit. “Coach Roof wants me to keep that under the radar. They are very good players.”
The Tech commits and Tre have kept in touch with each other and have become a tightknit group. “That’s something we take pride in and we feel it will give us a head start when report for summer workouts.”
Fellow corner commit Jaytlin Askew is one member of the class that Tre has gotten to know better. “We have this friendly competition going and we laugh about it.” The two have a friendly banter going to see which one can outdo the other on the football field. “It makes our friendship stronger and we feel it will rub off on the others to play at a higher level.”
The teams that were recruiting Tre before he gave his verbal commit to Tech have continued to recruit him. Those schools are Louisville, Nebraska, Oregon, and USC.
Because of his relationship with Coach Roof and fellow commit T.D. Roof, Tre doubts that he will end up going anywhere but Tech. Tre feels that he owes it to himself to visit more than one school. “If I had to sign today, it would be Georgia Tech.”
Tre and brother Bruce Jordan-Swilling plan to attend the Duke game and might also come up to Atlanta for the Virginia game.
Bruce has recently been invited to the Army All-American game. "Man I am so happy for him. He really deserves the accolades and recognition that comes from playing in that game. I know I will be there cheering for him."
