You better watch out for Rico Zackery in the coming months. The leg feels fine and he is ready for a big year.

A prospect to keep an eye on this season is Rico Zackery. Zackery, from Newnan (Ga.), missed his entire junior campaign because of a broken left leg (tibula). Zackery, 6-1 and 190 pounds (4.5 forty) plays free safety.

"The leg doesn't give me any trouble at all," said Zackery. "In fact, the coaches say I look faster and quicker. I know that I am stronger because of rehab."

The injury may have set Zackery back a little bit when it comes to recruiting, but come late fall, many of the college football recruiters will know his name. At this time, he does not have any scholarship offers, but that should soon change because Mr. Zackery is very talented and athletic.

"Right now, I am getting a lot of phone calls. Georgia, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Akron are recruiting me the hardest. I went to the Georgia/ Arkansas State game and Georgia called me yesterday to invite me back to their next game against the Razorbacks. I am just open and I will wait and see what happens."

Newnan High School is 2-0 on the season and this week they face Stockbridge (Ga.). In two games, Zackery has 24 tackles, 1 interception and 1 field goal. Top Stories
