Graham at 12 offers and expecting more

Fitzgerald, GA junior quarterback James Graham has led his team to the semi-finals of the state playoffs. His performance this season has drawn attention from numerous schools and more are expected to get involved with his recruitment.

Completing the football season and then competing in track has all of Graham’s focus right now. James knows he has plenty of time to make his college choice. “I have one more year to go before I really have to make a decision. But what I have done, I have really enjoyed."

James has 12 offers and more should be coming following this season. “I expect coaches to stop by and check out my next game. Graham has already been to games at Florida and Georgia Tech. Both visits went well but Graham especially liked the visit to Tech. “Playing in Coach (Paul) Johnson's system is a place a quarterback would love to play. They have so much responsibility but they also has the chance to make huge plays."

Graham could see himself playing quarterback at Tech. "It’s a great position in their offense and the academics there are tremendous. That is the biggest and probably my only factor in choosing a school at this point in my recruitment."

Not all of the schools recruiting James are looking at him as a quarterback. “A lot of schools want me as an athlete.” Florida is one of those schools. Tech, on the other hand, likes James as a quarterback. “I'm not putting a stamp on what position I have to play. I just want to get the best fit for me."

Former Tech star Jemea Thomas also played at Fitzgerald. He and Graham worked out together before the start of the season. “He gives me some tips on footwork but with him being defense and me offense, we don't talk much about how to play the game. He does have a lot of experience in the recruiting game and I can learn from him."

Tech and Florida State are two of the schools that James would like to visit after the season. “Right now I’m focused on winning the state championship. I haven't talked to coaches about making visits."
