Honolulu St. Louis School offensive lineman Michael Minihan gave his verbal commit to Georgia Tech in July. The weekend of December 3rd Minihan took his official visit to Tech and the visit convinced him that Tech was where he needed to be.

The visit to Tech was described by Michael as awesome and a blast. “I got a chance to get to know some of my future teammates and to get to say hello and a sort of good bye to the outgoing seniors like Justin Thomas and Pat Gamble.” Michael also got to build a relationship with 2017 classmate Connor Hansen. “It helped that both of our hosts, Parker Braun and Brad Morgan, are offensive linemen and we were able to just have a really good time watching film, talking shop, and getting to know each other. I don't think the visit could have gone any better."

Talking with the players, recruits, coaches, and academic people was the highlight of the visit for Minihan. “Getting to see some first class facilities was also something that stood out to Minihan. “I know they have plans for the locker room and even more plans for the weight room. Tech isn't going to stand still and not keep up their facilities."

Now that he has taken his official visit, Michael has continued to help recruit Tech targets. One of those players that Minihan talks to is defensive line target Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa. “He told me that he had a great time on his official visit and was extremely impressed with the city, school, and academics there at Georgia Tech. Minihan is also working on defensive lineman Aliki Vimahi. “It would be great if all three of us from Hawaii end up at Georgia Tech. I think we can and I am working to make it happen."

Minihan’s parents are onboard with his decision. "My parents loved the visit and my dad is in awe of where I am going to be. He thinks it’s awesome.” Minihan knows that having his parents blessing will make his time at Tech more enjoyable.

Two things are now at the forefront for Minihan. "Once I sign my letter of intent, Coach (John) Sisk with be sending me my conditioning and workout program and then I will be receiving a package telling me what
to do before I report in mid-June.” Minihan is excited about starting his career at Tech and helping them win some ACC titles.
