Michael Cooper has two favorite schools now. Cooper, from Sylvania (Ga.) Screven County High School, rushed for 213 yards (3 TDs) in their opener against Burke County.

Nicolas Turner gets all the publicity as being the Peach State's top running back and athlete. Turner is cat-quick and very explosive. Perhaps the top big back in the state is Michael Cooper. Cooper, 6-1 and 215 pounds, stars for Sylvania (Ga.) Screven County High School in South Georgia.

"I feel like I am much stronger this year," said Cooper. "I am a little faster too. I sprained my MCL during spring ball and I had to rehab hard this summer. I feel fine now."

At this time, Cooper has scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, Louisville, Duke, Maryland, Northwestern, LSU, Wake Forest, Clemson and Georgia.

"Georgia finally offered. So did Clemson. Right now, my two favorites are Georgia and Georgia Tech. I like the fact that Georgia is in the SEC and they have mixed it up offensively. I like what Coach (Mark) Richt is doing there. Georgia Tech has a potent offense that stills puts up great stats and they have a real consistent and balanced offense." Top Stories
