Ben Bresnahan hoping for summer decision

West Forsyth, Georgia 2018 athlete Ben Bresnahan is being recruited to play two offensive positions. Ben has started to see his recruitment pick up. Wednesday he approached double-digit offers when he received a new offer.

The offer total for Bresnahan now stands at nine with the latest offer coming from Navy. Wake Forest, Minnesota, and Central Florida are some of the schools that have offered Ben. “I’m also starting to hear from other schools.”

One of those schools is Georgia Tech. “I was just at Tech on Monday.” Ben and his dad were hosted on the trip by Coach Craig Candeto. Ben toured the school and they talked about academics. “I'd like to major in some form of engineering or something in the medical field. Obviously, Georgia Tech is a great school when it comes to engineering - thus the appeal to me."

Coach Candeto talked about Ben’s skills being a good match for the Tech system. Most schools are recruiting Ben as a tight end but that is not the case with Tech. Bresnahan is currently 6’4”-230. “Coach Candeto said that I fit what Coach (Paul) Johnson wants in a receiver.”

Coach Candeto would like to see Ben return for spring practice or the spring game. "He told me and my dad that he would like to see if we could make both. I think we will. My mom wants to see what we got to see this past Monday."

Ben and his teammates don’t begin spring practice until May so he’ll have time to make additional spring visits. “. Right now I am going to Clemson this weekend. Then, I will make visits to Georgia State, Wake Forest, Miami, and Auburn.”

The trend in recruiting has been for recruits to make their college choice prior to their senior season. That is also Ben’s goal. "I want to have the school I want to attend picked out before I head back for my senior year."

Academics will be at the top of Ben’s list when he looks at factors in choosing a school. “I really want to get a good degree.” His relationship with the coaching staff will also be considered. He’ll be looking for a staff with stability. Finally, Ben will be looking for a coach that is not afraid to play a freshman if he earns the playing time. Top Stories
