Even though it’s late in the signing period, Blair is just beginning his visits. “I will have my decision made by May 16th. I want to sign my letter of intent instead of just showing up to the school I want to attend.”
Blair will take the first of his official visits Wednesday when he visits Georgetown. “My mom may come with me and my coach but I know for sure my coach will be coming with me.” Jahvon was scheduled to take his official to Georgetown last weekend but he had to push the visit back until Wednesday.
Georgia Tech is another school that is showing interest in Jahvon. Coach Darryl LaBarrie made the trip to the Athlete Institute to visit Blair. The two talked and Coach LaBarrie watched Blair workout. “He said I was a perfect fit for the Georgia Tech and he would love to have me on the team. He said I had a great shot and he like the way I moved.” Tech is looking for shooter and the 6’3” Blair fits that mold. “He also loved the way I hustled on both ends of the court.”
Tech Coach Josh Pastner has also recently been in touch with Jahvon. “He said he wanted to visit me but he had to go to Florida this week and wouldn’t be able to make it.” After talking to Coach Pastner about the visit, Coach LaBarrie was scheduled to talk to Blair about a possible visit to Atlanta. “He said he really wants me down in Atlanta and that he will be giving Coach Pastner great reviews about me.”
Jahvon has talked to his mom and they will be looking at possible visit dates. “We will talk with Coach LaBarrie and Coach Pastner to see when we can make it happen.” Coach LaBarrie let Jahvon know that he should visit more than one school so that he’ll be able to compare different schools. “He said I would love Atlanta.”
His senior season was a successful one. Blair finished the year averaging 23 points and 6 rebounds a game. Tech is looking for a scorer and a guard that can rebound. Blair’s stats fit that criteria.
When the decision time comes, Jahvon will be looking for a winning program that has a great coaching staff. He’ll also be looking at playing time and the team’s conference will also be a factor. “I want the school to be one my parents are comfortable with from an athletic and academic standpoint.” Lastly, academics will play a role in Blair’s decision. “I’m looking to maybe major in International Business.”
