Chig feels that he had a good spring and this will lead to more offers. “There were a lot schools there to check out me and some of my other teammates. I saw coaches with hats on from schools like Vanderbilt, North Carolina State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan State, and Penn State."

Several schools have stood out to Chig. These are also schools that he feels are recruiting him the hardest. “Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Troy, Purdue, and Maryland are really pushing for me. Chig hears from the coaches at those schools the most and on a regular basis.

When it comes to Tech, Chig hears from Coach Buzz Preston and Coach Lamar Owens. “Both of them talk to me about the student life there. They tell me that once I leave college that a degree from Georgia Tech will have a good impact on my life in the business world.” Both coaches have also talked to Chig about the Tech offense and what his role would be in the offense. “I like that there are several great receivers in the NFL from Georgia Tech."

Chig hopes to combine summer camps and unofficial visits when he hits the road this summer. ”I want to talk to the coaches and players at each school to get a good idea of how it is at each of those schools.”

The Georgia Tech camp will be one of the camps that Chig will be attending. "I know that is one I want to make.” Chig has planned a busy summer. “To be completely upfront, I plan on trying to attend about ten camps this summer and make visits to other schools where I don't attend camp."

As things stand now, Chig has 15 offers. Chig hopes these offers lead to a dream he’s had since he was a child. “I would play in the backyard and dream that playing football would provide the means for me to get a college scholarship."

A college decision will probably come sometime during his senior season. Chig will be looking for a comfort level at the school he chooses. “The football program will mean something but not as much as my being very comfortable with the college life at that school.” The most important factor for Chig will be the academic degree he’ll be able to receive. Chig will be using that degree for his life after football.
