J Jackson secures his spot at Georgia Tech

Peach County, GA 2018 linebacker JaQuez Jackson was in Atlanta Saturday to watch the Georgia Tech football camp. Sunday, Jackson called Coach Paul Johnson to give him his commit.

Once he was offered, JaQuez knew that Tech was where he wanted to be. “I talked to Coach Johnson around 7:00 PM tonight to inform him. I wanted to give my commitment because I know they are only taking a few players at my position and I wanted to secure my spot at Georgia Tech.” Coach Johnson let Jackson know he was happy to have him on board and congratulated him on a great decision.”

Jackson has always followed Georgia Tech. “It’s a place I love and a place I know where I want to be playing football and getting my education. Being up there Saturday talking to everyone just was something that I felt like made me know that Georgia Tech was the place for me.”

The Tech coaching staff likes JaQuez as an outside linebacker. “I’m not sure if it will be the Will or SAM but I will be an outside linebacker.” Peach County runs a defensive scheme similar to the Tech scheme. “Knowing that is good for me.”

Being the first commit in the class made Jackson feel good. “I’m very proud of my accomplishments in getting the offer and committing to Georgia Tech. I want to return the favor and help recruit other players in this class.” Jackson wants to see who the Tech staff is targeting and then he wants to start networking with the Tech targets that he knows. “I want to have a great class.”

JaQuez’s family is 100% behind his decision to commit to Tech. “They know I made a great decision not only for football but especially academically.”
