Thomas called Coach Andy McCollum to give him the good news. “When I called him, I told him “I am in”.  I gave him my commitment.” Coach McCollum was excited to hear the news from Thomas.

The commitment came after Charlie had done some thinking about all the schools that were recruiting him and what he wanted in a school. “Georgia Tech was the school that had everything I wanted. Tech was the most perfect fit for football and academically.”

Charlie made a trip up to Tech this past Thursday to take another look at the school. The visit helped Charlie make up my mind. “I just kept thinking about the 1 in 6 graduates go on to become millionaires and I just couldn’t pass that chance up.” Charlie has not decided on his major at this time.

The Tech coaches will most likely start Charlie out at the safety position. “I think I can play any of the defensive secondary positions and I am okay with any of them.”

Thomas has been in touch with fellow Jacket commit JaQuez Jackson. “We are excited that we are the first to commit to Georgia Tech and we are ready to recruit others to come in with us.” Charlie has a few recruits in mind that he’ll contact but he wants to keep those names quiet at this time.

The Thomas verbal closes down his recruitment. “I made my commitment.”
