Newnan, Georgia receiver P.J. Harris is one recruit that shies away from the attention. Harris has been a Georgia Tech silent commit since January. Today he went public with his commit.
The 6’3”-210 recruit told the Tech coaches that he didn’t want to go public with his commit. “I talked to Coach (Buzz) Preston back in January and told him I didn’t want to go public with it. I just wanted it to be between me, Georgia Tech, and my family back then. ” Today Harris decided it was time to go public with his commit. “There was no real reason for me deciding to go public today.”
PJ.’s first contact with Tech was at their summer camp in 2016. He liked what he saw after observing the interaction among the players. “I thought that was something special. I wanted to be a part of that. The coaches really took me in. I liked that a lot.”
Since his silent commit, Harris has watched a lot of film of the receivers from last season and feels that he is a lot like them. “I actually feel that I’m an excellent blocker. I spend a lot of time on that and take pride in it. I feel that I spend more time practicing blocking than most wide receivers.”
Now that he has gone public with his commit, P.J. plans to get involved in getting more recruits to commit to Tech. He already has some few friends that he has been talking to about Tech. “I tell them not to overlook Georgia Tech because they are a very good football team as well as a great academic school. I will work my best to help this class.”
