Anthony and his teammates at Holy Spirit both performed well at the camp. “I felt I did pretty well. I think I did really well.” Edwards had a chance to showcase his talents against some top ranked high school teams. “Just continuing to build my relationship with my teammates was a huge highlight for me.”
Edwards played at the two during the camp but he feels he could also play on the wing or at point guard. “I prefer playing the two if I had to pick one position.” Edwards showed the ability to score and shoot at a high percentage at the camp.
While he continues to prepare for the Under Armour finals in July, with his Atlanta Xpress teammates, Anthony plans to work on making his jump shot better and he’ll also work on improving his defense.
The only part of Georgia Tech that Anthony was able to see over the weekend was the facilities where the games were played. “I plan to make a return trip to see the campus and the school.”
Coach Josh Pastner has made Edwards one of the priorities for the 2020 class. “They are very interested in me and I’m very much interested in Georgia Tech.” Tech has offered Edwards and his offer total is now at ten. Of those ten, Edwards feels that Florida State, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M and DePaul are the schools that are recruiting him the hardest. “Right now, Florida State and Georgia Tech are the schools that stand out.”
His relationship with coaches Josh Pastner and Leonard Hamilton has brought both schools to the forefront. “My relationship with the assistant coaches, the players, and the way the players get along with one another are also reasons why those schools lead.”
Even though his signing day is down the road, Anthony has an idea of when he might sign. “I will pick a school and sign right before my class graduates.” Anthony plans to name a top five sometime during his senior year.
