Marist High School standout Chris Davis has helped his team to a 9-1 record this season. He has trimmed his list of favorites to a final 3.

"I went to Georgia Tech for their game with Auburn. I liked the way they
fought, and how young they really are. The coaches are really good as well. As
for Duke, I went up there for their game with North Carolina State. I thought
their campus was beautiful. The gothic buildings with the gargoyles and stuff
was really neat."
With three institutions known for their academic prowess on his list, one
must infer that Davis has no trouble making the grade.
"I'm an A's and B's guy. I have a 3.00 GPA, and a 990 SAT. I took the
SAT over a year ago, and I may do it again. I'm not sure yet."
What is Chris looking forward to most about college life?
"The college football environment with the big crowds is something I
like a lot. Also, just having a chance to be out on my own. Those are the main
What is the most important factor in his final decision?
"Basically, I just don't want to make football the 100% factor in my
decision. It's more about how I fit in. If I couldn't play football, would I
enjoy myself at this college? My parents are also very important. I want to be
close to them."
Davis is pointing towards a January decision. He has set one official visit
to Duke on January 9th, and will set his others sometime after the season is
