No, Brad Brezina is not a 6-5, 300 pound defensive tackle prospect. He began his senior season at 6-1/225, playing OL and linebacker.
But he committed to the Yellow Jackets last week and is projected by Tech coaches as a likely defensive lineman.
Brezina said he committed early so he could focus on helping his team win the Class A state championship. The Spartans are ranked number three.
"I knew that I wanted to go to Georgia Tech and I didn't want to have any distractions in front of me with the rest of my high school season in front of me," he told the Athens Banner Herald last week.
Brezina's teammate Joe Tereshinski, of course, recently committed to Georgia, where his father is video coordinator.
Brezina was recruited heavily by Tech offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien.
Brezina was also recruited by SMU, Wake Forest, and Troy State, among other schools. Tech loses one defensive line starter, Merrix Watson to graduation off this year's team.
