Newest Tech Commitment Discusses Decision

David Brown, DL, from Bob Jones HS in Madison, AL, committed to Georgia Tech on Sunday. We caught up with him last night to get his comments on his commitment to the Jackets

"I felt like this was the place for me. Coach Bates (Bob Jones Head Coach) even told me that he knew it would come down how I felt. The guys I was around this weekend...there were 17 recruits... and 11 of them had already committed to Georgia Tech, and I felt like we all connected and felt comfortable around each other," David Brown said.

Asked about the activities of the weekend and Brown added, "We went to the basketball game, went to the mall and just hung out together. Gerris Wilkinson was my host player."

What about other official visits?

Brown said, "No, I will not take anymore official visits. Other coaches know that when I make a commitment that it is solid."

Did coaches discuss early playing time? Brown added, "No, but Gerris Wilkinson was telling me that only 4 defensive ends were coming back next year so that would be a great opportunity for me to come in and play early. I have heard there are several benefits to being redshirted though. I'm just going to go out there, work hard and see what happens."
