Georgia Tech adds Commitment

Georgia Tech has added a commitment today from a surprise official visitor that brings a lot of speed to the flats.

Jarrell Johnson was an unknown to recruiting services, but a select few schools had been recruiting the 5'9 185 pounder for quite a while now. This weekend he tripped to Georgia Tech, and returned as a brand new Yellow Jacket.

"I just got back home. I committed to Georgia Tech. It's a God send. I've loved them since I was little, and I'm thrilled to be a Jacket."

Growing up in Missouri, how did Johnson become such a big Tech fan?

"I have family in Buckhead. My aunt's and my uncle's and were all very close. For some reason, I have just always been a Georgia Tech fan. They are building a program there, and they have my major which is architecture."

What does Johnson think of Coach Gailey?

"Coach Gailey is a very honest and down to earth man. He pulls no punches, and he's honest. The hospitality and the environment at Georgia Tech fits me. It's just the place for me."

Who else did Johnson consider?

"I had an offer from Arkansas State. I was also considering Mizzou, Kansas, and Kansas State."

What position will Jarrell play on the flats?

"I play wide receiver, defensive back, and kick returner. They are going to give me a shot at all 3 of those. My heart is on offense though. I'm a playmaker, and I like to have the ball."

Ace Eziemefe hosted Jarrell on his visit. Johnson is easily one of the most well-spoken kids I've talked to all year, and you could tell he was genuinely thrilled to become a Yellow Jacket. He should have no trouble qualifying with a 3.5 GPA. Top Stories
