A New name from Alabama Visits Tech

Mountain Brook has a squad near Birmingham, AL that is making some noise late in the recruiting process. Tribble Reese is a quarterback that turned heads as a first year starter this year, and he has a teammate that is going to become a hot January name as well. He visited Georgia Tech this weekend.

Nathan McManus is a huge offensive line prospect at 6-4 and 290 pounds that I first heard about two weeks ago as a player that might be slipping through the cracks a bit. He isn't slipping through everyone's cracks though as he has several offers including one from Georgia Tech, who he visited this weekend.

"I had a real good time at Georgia Tech," said McManus. "I enjoyed the coaches. I really like Atlanta as a city. I liked hanging out with the offensive linemen; they are a good group of guys."

Who else is recruiting the big man from Mountain Brook?

"I might be going to Auburn this weekend. I will find out this week whether they bring me in for a visit or not. MTSU has offered me a scholarship too. I was getting interest from a lot of other schools, but I told them that Auburn, Georgia Tech, and MTSU were my three favorites."

McManus said that he was clocked at 4.79 in the forty at UCF's summer camp and that he consistently runs a 4.8. With a 325 pound bench press, 485 squat, and 345 power clean, the only numbers more impressive for him are 3.48/24. Those are his academic marks. He is a true student athlete that has come on late and will be a great catch for someone.

It looks like it's down to three.
