John Morrison Discusses Tech Commitment

John Morrison committed to Georgia Tech this weekend. The Marietta tight end/defensive end prospect discusses his choice of the Jackets.

John Morrison is a big athlete that can fill a lot of roles. He has chosen Georgia Tech, because he would like to fill one role in particular.

"I played defense this year," said Morrison. "We didn't keep stats the whole season, but I know I had seventy tackles by our ninth game. I've been wanting to play tight end for a really long time, and that was one of the things I liked about Georgia Tech. They offered me to come in and play tight end. Everyone else had talked to me about playing defensive line or maybe even offensive line."

"Georgia Tech is an up and coming football team. I think they have a chance to win the ACC next year. The facilities are great, and they really take care of the players with their academics. There are mandatory study halls for freshmen all year, and they have a new management building that is really nice. That's one of the areas I want to go into."

Morrison said he caught a couple of passes from Coach Chan Gailey while he was on his official visit, and he looks forward to getting the chance to play more pitch and catch at Georgia Tech. At close to 6-5 and 235 pounds with 4.8 speed in the forty, Morrison looks like he could be a huge target as well as a very physical blocker.
