Brand New Favorite for South Hot 100 ATH

Carlos Thomas is one of the top players in the state of Georgia and the 4-star Atlanta prospect has a brand new leader that should make a lot of the local folks very happy.

"I'm still looking at Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida and Clemson. Georgia Tech and Georgia are my top 2 but Georgia Tech is in front right now," Carlos Thomas said.

What has brought the Jackets storming back in the race for Carlos?

"They've got playing time and a great location. I like Coach Robinson as well. He's a cool guy to be around."

Might a commitment be right around the corner?

"I may commit in about a week. I'm going to Georgia Tech's first game this weekend against Samford."

Even if Thomas does indeed decide to commit to Coach Gailey relatively soon, the former Dallas Cowboys head coach may have to sweat out his recruitment for a little bit longer.

"I'm definitely still going to take some visits whether I commit or not. I know one game I'll go to is LSU and Georgia."

Does Carlos still want to play with ATH Ramon McElrathbey at the next level?

"I would like to go together if it works out, but it's not a definite if we end up liking different schools."

Banneker will lock horns with Westlake High School this weekend in a rivalry matchup, but the dislike between the schools doesn't carry over between two of the best players on the field.

"It's a rivalry game but me and Taalib Tucker are good friends. He's going to Georgia Tech and it would be cool to play with him in college."

In Banneker's 1-1 start this season, Thomas has racked up 21 catches and 3 TD's, including a 98 yard kick return for a touchdown. He will immediately add a huge dose of speed to whichever he school he ultimately decides to attend. Top Stories
