Linebacker Has Many Options

Matt Braman has been gaining interest lately. He added an offer to his growing list tonight. He has made 2 visits so far and plans to take one more before deciding.

Matthew Braman continues to build onto his list of offers. Tonight the Colorado linebacker received a call from Colorado and was extended an offer to join the Buffalos. But Colorado may be jumping into the game too late. Braman says, "Colorado just offered tonight. They're kind of in the mix but I don't know."

The other remaining teams on his list have all offered as well. Those teams include: Georgia Tech, Colorado State, Kansas State and Oregon. Matt has already made official visits to Georgia Tech and Colorado State. He'll make one last visit to Kansas State on January 14th and was considering a visit to Oregon. Braman says, "Kansas State will probably be my last visit." When asked about the chances of setting up the Oregon visit he says, "Probably not."

As far Braman's take on who is favorite team is at this time he says, "I'm still kind of waiting on my options but I definitely like Georgia Tech a lot. The atmosphere is pretty nice at the school and the football program is really good." Matt's high school coach, Coach Tesone, was reached earlier today and he had this to say about Braman's visit to GT, "I know he loved the visit to Georgia Tech. And they really showed him a great time and were really interested." Coach Tesone was also impressed with the GT coach who is recruiting Matt, about Coach Brian Jean-Mary he says, "He was great. He was really a class act." While on his visit at Tech, Matt was hosted by linebacker Chris Reis.

With Colorado being 15 minutes from his place and Colorado State only 30-45 minutes away, how will distance play a role in Matt's decision? Braman says, "I guess distance is a little bit of a factor but I want to be in a place where I know has a good program and good academics. So I guess it's not that big of a factor." Speaking of distance, it was interesting to see that Georgia Tech is the only school Braman is looking at in the eastern half of the United States. Why Tech? Braman says, "One of my dad's friends knows Coach Tenuta (GT Defensive Coordinator)." Coach Tenuta asked to see Matt's film and apparently liked what he saw.

Georgia Tech is recruiting Braman as a linebacker. His high school coach had this to say about Matt's position in college, "It's (linebacker) probably his best fit for college. He did play some H-back for us this year. I could see him being almost a three-technique, a down-lineman maybe, with good speed, huge legs, one of those kinds of kids. I think though probably more so defense than any kind of offense, although Oregon's looking at him possibly as a fullback. He's darn athletic." Coach Tesone says about Braman's dimensions, "Matt is probably 6'2.5", 235. He a 4.65 guy for the 40. He can move."
