Tech Takes One from the Rockies

Linebacker chooses to go across country to play his college football for Chan Gailey and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Is it true that Matt Braman (linebacker from Col.) committed to Georgia Tech last night? "Yeah, I did," said Braman. So I guess the in-home visit with Coach Chan Gailey went well? "It went really well. I really liked it a lot," said Braman. "It was really nice. It was nice for him to come down and just talk to my parents and me. After that, I decided that's where I wanted to go."

Matt chose Tech over options closer to home, like Colorado and Colorado State. Was that tough to do? Braman says, "Yeah it was, just the stay-at-home aspect of having the people here being around to watch me. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought I wanted to go to Georgia Tech."

Matt added that Kansas State came through with an offer tonight, but it was too late. Braman says, "Kansas State just called tonight but I told everybody today and last night that I was going to Georgia Tech."

What did Matt like about Georgia Tech to make him choose that his college choice? Matt says, "I just really liked the atmosphere there… the coaches, the players, just being in Atlanta. When I watched football practice when I went out to visit, I really liked how they just ran everything. It was just cool to see."

Braman says his position at Tech will probably be Middle Linebacker. He says his build currently is 6'3", and around 240 pounds. Top Stories
