Jackets Lead for In-State Corner

Carson Hill is a DB prospect out of Baldwin County High School in Milledgeville, GA. He already holds 3 nice offers and Carson is hoping to add to that total this fall.

"I have offers from Georgia Tech, Vandy and Southern Miss. Some other schools are recruiting me also," Carson Hill said.

Hill names a top 5 with a favorite.

"Right now I have a top 5 of Georgia Tech, Georgia, Auburn, Florida and Alabama. Georgia Tech is the front runner."

Why are the Jackets on top?

"Coach Smith is real cool and I've been to Georgia Tech already 3 times this year. I liked their camp and the campus. I got to sit and talk to Coach Tenuta and I like how he likes his corners to come up and hit. They have a good tradition and it's close to home too."

What does he like about the other schools on his list?

Georgia: "It's the hometown team. Georgia just seems to come first here. You can't drive down the road or go anywhere without seeing a Georgia mailbox or a Georgia tag. I also like Coach Martinez a lot. He came down and watched me practice."

Auburn: "I haven't seen the whole campus yet but I liked what I saw at the Scout.com Combine there. I talk to Coach Borges all the time and they seem close to offering."

Florida: "Florida has the whole package. Me and my teammate Maurice Hurt went down there and everything is just nice down there. Coach Hevesy is real cool and I talk to him a lot."

Alabama: "I did have some ties going there in my cousin Nick Kyles but he's going to another school now. I do like Coach Harbison a lot. I went to junior day there and they have probably some of the top 5 facilities in the SEC."

Hill has some specific things he's looking for in the school of his choice.

"First thing really is tradition. I want to be at a prestigious school. The second thing is probably the southeast. I don't want to leave the south. Playing time is also important but I don't expect to come in and start or anything. I just want a chance to compete."
