The pitching woes for the Georgia Tech starters continued Tuesday night as Georgia Southern pounded Tech 19-7. For the third consecutive game, Tech's starting pitcher did not last past the second inning. Tuesday night's victim was Tim Ladd. Ladd gave up 8 runs in two innings. His cause was not helped by the Jacket fielders. Four of those runs were unearned as the Jackets committed 4 errors.

The Jackets hitting attack was led by Danny Payne, Wes Hodges, Jeff Kindel and Steven Blackwood. They each had two hits. Mike Trapani and Payne each hit homers. The eleven runs scored by Southern in the first three innings were too much for the Jackets to overcome.

The bright spot of the night was the return to the mound of John Goodman and Eddie Burns. Goodman was cleared to pitch this week by "Tommy John specialist", Dr. Andrews. Goodman threw one shutout inning in his first appearance since 20004. Burns did not fare as well as he failed to get a batter out. This was his first appearance since he injured his shoulder in high school.

The Jackets return to action against Southern in a 4pm start Wednesday. David Duncan, Ryan Turner or Jared Hyatt are possible starters for the Jackets.

Faces in the crowd - The Male H.S. baseball team from Louisville, Kentucky. Reggie Ball and Tashard Choice were there, bonding with the section 10 crew; and their bodyguards (Dunmon, Smith, and McManus)!
