The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets completed a sweep of the Duke Blue Devils with an 18 hit 18-6 victory. 11 different Jackets had hits as Tech scored the final 12 runs of the game.

With the game tied 6-6 going into the bottom half of the 6th, the Ramblin Wreck exploded for 9 runs. Whit Robbins led the attack with 3 hits, 5 RBIs and a home run. Michael Trapani, Matt Wieters, Steven Blackwood, Jeff Kindel and Wes Hodges each contributed two hits.

John Goodman got the start but only lasted 3.1 innings. Ryan Turner, Brad Rulon and Michael Hutts finished out the game giving up only one run. Rulon got the win and Hutts made his first appearance of the year.

The game got a little testy in the top of the ninth when Duke coach Sean McNally and Danny Hall exchanged words. Coach McNally felt that the Jackets were running up the score in spite of the fact that we used 20 players in the game.

It appears that Danny Payne's season may be over. Loyall Gause has been in uniform but unable to take batting practice due to his foot not completly healed from his operation.

The Jackets resume play this Tuesday against Wofford. Wofford recently defeated South Carolina. Gametime is set for 7pm.
