After sweeping through both the Atlanta Regional and the Atlanta Super Regional, No. 8 Georgia Tech is going to Omaha, Nebraska to take part in the College World Series. The Yellow Jackets will be making their third trip to the CWS. To get out of their bracket and into the Championship series, the Ramblin Wreck will have to get past some familiar foes, starting with No. 1 national seed Clemson. Their bracket also features baseball powerhouse Cal State Fullerton and fellow ACC member, North Carolina.

Here are some notes that have been compiled by the GoJackets.com staff in preparation for Friday's game with Clemson. Game time is set for 2 PM ET at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium.

1. Clemson has won 24 of its last 25 games. The lone loss was to Georgia Tech in the ACC Tournament.

2. Georgia Tech and Clemson have split their 6-game season series (including post-season).

3. This marks the second time that Tech and Clemson will be in the CWS at the same time. 2002 was the other time.

4. Clemson was 1st in the ACC in fielding and 2nd in team ERA.

5. Clemson is second to Rice with 52 wins.

6.

7. No Clemson player has College World Series experience.

8. Clemson's Head Coach feels it's important that their team doesn't give the Jackets any extra outs due to their potent offense.

9. Clemson's pitching staff is as deep as it's been since Coach Leggett has been there.

10. Because of the format with day's off between games, Clemson may use starters out of the bullpen.

11. Clemson's Tyler Colvin was the 13th pick in the MLB draft. Starting pitchers Josh Cribb and Stephen were both early round picks in the draft.

12. Clemson's overall team speed is probably better than it's been in some time. The Georgia Tech pitchers will have to keep runners close. Matt Wieters has done a good job throwing out runners when the pitchers keep them close to the bag.

13. Georgia Tech catcher Matt Wieters was selected as a first-team All-America by Baseball America magazine. Wieters is the 14th player in Georgia Tech history to earn first-team All-America honors by at least one publication. He joins Jason Varitek as the only catchers in school history to earn first-team All-America honors.

14. Clemson outfielder Tyler Colvin was also selected as a first-team All-America by Baseball America.
