The one-day camp at Tech was filled with many activities.
"They did passing; some were doing 40-yard dashes, height, weight, vertical, bench press and stuff," said Threet. "Then we ate lunch and then each person met with a specific position coach for a little bit before we went out and did the practice type stuff. Actually, I didn't do any of the passing but I did the height and weight. I was 6'5¼" and 231 pounds."
Threet spent some time with other prominent recruits while at the camp.
"Some guys I've talked to but not necessarily seen anywhere," said Threet. "I was around Jonathan Dwyer a lot of the day and one of the receivers that Tech is recruiting, his name's D.J. Donley. So me, D.J. and Dwyer were hanging out for a lot of the time."
After the Tech camp, Threet went up the road to Knoxville then to Raleigh, where's he'll be until the end of the week.
"After Atlanta, we drove to Knoxville and worked out with Coach Cutcliffe there," said Threet. "Then after Knoxville we drove over to Raleigh to visit and that's where I'm at right now. I'm visiting N.C. State. I'm doing a visit and working out tomorrow (Thursday). We fly back on Friday afternoon."
There are several other planned stops for Steven over the next month.
"I'm going to a one-day [camp] at Michigan," said Threet. "One-day [camp] at Michigan State. Both of those are next week; Monday and Wednesday. I'm looking to go somewhere possibly the last week in June. Not sure where yet."
Threet is beginning to narrow his search down from the teams that have offered him to date.
"The last one I received was from Wisconsin," said Threet. "Other than that, I don't know, I'm just really trying to [concentrate on] some schools that I'm really considering and somewhat narrow it down so I can come to a decision in July." Steven was modest about his list of offers to date but it's a significant list. "I think there are 9, so it's not that big [of a list]. There's Georgia Tech, NC State, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Stanford, Miami (Ohio), Central Michigan and Cincinnati," said Threet. "Definitely the greatest consideration is going to those schools that obviously have offered me. At this time those are the only schools I can consider."
Though he's getting closer to a decision, Steven isn't ready to name a favorite or top group of schools besides just the ones who have offered.
"I don't really have one," said Threet. "I'm kind of just taking a look at all of the different options and seeing which one will be the best fit for me."
Threet describes the biggest factor in his decision-making process.
"Being comfortable with the all around situation, the coaches, other players," said Threet. "Everything goes into the decision."
As for other factors, Steven was asked about depth charts.
"I have looked at them at the different places but no matter where you go, if it's somewhere good, there's going to be competition," said Threet. "It could come into effect but I'm not sure it plays a major role."
What about distance?
"It doesn't really matter for the most part where it is as long as I feel like it's the right place," said Threet.
Finally, Steven talked about his overall experience at Georgia Tech.
"I really like it," said Threet. "I get along well with the coaches down there. It seems like it could be a really good fit for the most part. All around it looks like a pretty good choice. It's definitely a place I'm considering very strongly."
As for other current players he's gotten to know, a fellow QB comes to mind.
Look for Threet to possibly make is college choice within the next month or so.
"Middle-to-late July, I'll say," said Threet. "Not any particular day just whenever I feel like I'm ready to make that decision."
