South Georgia 4-Star Chooses Tech

Georgia Tech continued it's recruiting success in the class of 2007 earlier this week when Willie White of Camden County chose to commit to the Yellow Jackets. White elected to wait until this Sunday afternoon to go public with his decision and we have all the details inside.

"I chose Georgia Tech because I really get along with the whole coaching staff. They really care about me individually and they've been there from the beginning. I love Atlanta and the big city atmosphere of the school and I look forward to playing up there," Willie White said.

Promoting Giff Smith to recruiting coordinator has already paid huge dividends for the Jackets and he personally recruited Willie himself.

"Coach Giff Smith recruited me. He's been up front the whole time with me. With coach Smith, you know he's being straightforward with you and he doesn't cut corners. I can really trust him."

Chan Gailey made a trip to Camden County earlier this spring and that also made an impact on White's decision.

"I do respect Coach Gailey a lot. I especially like the fact that he came down here and watched me practice. That showed me how interested they really were."

Much has been made about just what position the 4-star prospect will play but it appears he'll begin his career on the flats at the same position he plays in high school.

"I think I'm going to end up at the free safety position but I know the receiver coach is looking at me as well. I just want to play college football. I don't care what position it is."

White insists his decision his firm and will not change.

"It's a solid commitment. There's no changing my mind or anything."
