Scout.com caught up with Cedric Everson and had a chat about his recruiting and to settle a couple of rumors floating around the recruiting world.

Cedric how is your recruiting coming along?

"It is coming along fine. I have had a lot of schools stay in contact with me over the summer."

Which schools would you say are staying in touch with you the most?

"Georgia Tech, UCLA, Iowa , Penn State , and Missouri are the ones I hear from the most and are ones that send me the most stuff."

Have you heard about a couple rumors about your recruiting on the internet?

"Yes sir, I've heard about one or two."

One has it that you are basically down to two schools and those schools are Georgia Tech and UCLA. Would that be a fair assessment?

"Yes sir, I would say that. I like both schools."

Also, there is another rumor that you will make a commitment at the end of the month, is that true?

"Yes sir, it is. I would like to make a decision by the end of August. I feel that will be the right time to announce my decision."

What is more important to you, playing as a freshman or academics?

"I feel both are an important part in making my decision. I want to play right away and I want to go to a very good academic school to get a quality education."

How about distance, is that important piece of the puzzle too?

"Yes it is, my parents want to come see me play at college, so you could say it is big part too."

When it comes to which side of the ball you will play on, do you prefer offense or defense?

"I want to play both when I get to college, I love both sides. I feel I can do it and I enjoy catching the ball as well as defending the ball."

I know you haven't made any official visits yet, but have you made an unofficial visit that you felt you made some good friends?

Yes sir, when I made a trip down to Georgia Tech, I got be good friends with Djay Jones, Calvin Johnson, KaMichael Hall, and Reggie Ball. I had a good time with them.

When you make your decision, will it be a firm one that ends your recruiting process?

"Yes sir, when I make my decision, it will firm and it will be final."

Scout.com has set up a time to contact Cedric again later on to see if he is ready to make his decision on which team will be his college for the next 4 years. Which school gets him will be getting a very talented player, one that has a firm plan on what he wants to happen when he gets to college.
