What were the biggest factors in Jon's decision?
"I think the fact that he's close by and he's very close with his family and his brother. And I think that Coach Gailey and Coach Nix did an outstanding job of making him feel comfortable, making him feel like he was going to be an important part of what they did, and the fact that they respect him as a person. And I don't think it's any different than anybody else per se. Everybody knows what a gem Jon is and they'd love to have him in their program. But I thought everybody did an excellent job of recruiting him. But I think what it boils down to is Jon felt very comfortable there."
What kind of player is Georgia Tech getting?
"My opinion is he is an immediate impact player. He's outstanding running the football, he's a great receiver, he adjusts to be ball extremely well, he's very explosive and very powerful, and for Jon I think it's a matter of getting settled down into college and getting prepared to play and learning the offense. When he's comfortable he's really something."
How tough of a decision was it for Dwyer to make?
"I think it was very tough. I think it really came down to did he want to go away from his family or did he not. And I know that Stan Drayton and Urban Meyer just did a tremendous job of recruiting him. And I know that it was a very difficult decision for him to make."
Anything else you'd like to add about Jon on or off the field?
"He's a better person than he is a football player. I had several coaches come through in the spring and tell me they thought he was the best running back in the country. And I think he's a better person than he is a football player. And he's pretty outstanding in every way."
This is the 13th commitment for the Yellow Jackets for the 2007 class. This stellar Tech recruiting class could make room for another later today as offensive lineman Nick Claytor is expected to announce at 7 o'clock. Georgia Tech is the heavy favorite for Claytor who, like Dwyer, is also a 4-star prospect from Georgia.
