"We're off to a decent start," Yandell said. "The offense needs to pick it up some but the good thing is that our defense is playing incredible football right now. They scored two touchdowns last Friday and got the shutout."
Yandell, 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, recently took an unofficial visit to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech/Notre Dame game.
"I really enjoyed myself there," he said. "The game was close and the atmosphere in the stadium was awesome. The fans were really good and I liked the campus and the area. I'm going back there for an official visit on October 7th. I'm excited for that because I wasn't able to see some things during my visit for the game."
The standout offensive lineman has been hoping Midwest programs like Notre Dame and Michigan would offer. What's the latest on that?
"Michigan said they're not going to offer right now so I'm glad I'm able to focus on the other schools," he said. "I'm not as worried about those two anymore. I'm focusing on the ones who have offered and the ones I'm interested in visiting."
Other possible visit destinations include Florida, Maryland, and N.C. State but things appear to be looking good for the Yellow Jackets right now.
