Tech Gets to 17 with 4-star Corner

Before heading into a 6PM meeting on Sunday with Georgia Tech Head Coach Chan Gailey as part of the activities for his son's official visit, Mr. Everson indicated a decision may be near.

Cedric Everson Jr., the father of 4-star corner prospect Cedric Everson III, was heading into a 6PM meeting today with Georgia Tech Head Coach Chan Gailey as part of the activities for his son's official visit. Before heading into the meeting he gave the big hint that, "we're about to get this done," said Everson. The implication being that the plan was to commit to GT a day following a huge victory for the Yellow Jackets on the field versus ACC foe Miami.

"Whenever he would talk about his favorite teams, Georgia Tech was always the first one he'd talk about," said Everson. Though the family has enjoyed the recruiting process, Everson expressed that they were tired and ready to end it.

Mr. Everson has just given to okay to report that his son is now verbally committed to the Yellow Jackets. Cedric becomes the 17th commit in a class expected to fill up once the number reaches 19. Everson also becomes the 8th 4-star prospect in the 2007 class for Tech. The Yellow Jackets have now dipped into Michigan twice this year to pull top prospects out of that state. QB Steven Threet was the first when he committed at the beginning of July.
