The Ambassador Back at Work Today

One of Georgia Tech's best recruiters is back! No, I'm not talking about the end of Coach Chan Gailey's flirtation with the NFL. I'm talking about a Tech commit who has become a fan favorite throughout the recruiting process. Linebacker prospect Kyle Jackson (a.k.a. "The Ambassador") has built up a reputation for communicating with all of Tech's recruits in an effort to help land top talent to join him on campus. Today he gets back on the job and also comments on the "return" of his Head Coach.

"I'll be on campus with Nick Claytor, Derrick Morgan and Steven Threet to hang out with the official visitors," said Jackson. This weekend Georgia Tech is hosting two recruits. One is fellow committed player -- defensive back Mario Butler from St Augustine, Fla.

The other is one of only two uncommitted players left on Georgia Tech's big board of prospects. Malachi Lewis, who left on a redeye flight from California on Thursday evening, is the other official visitor. Lewis was recently listed as Scout.com's #21 prospect from the talent-rich state of California. Nationally he's ranked #6 overall for the SLB position. In an interview with GoJackets.com earlier this week Lewis described his finalists as, "Right now I am looking at six schools," said Lewis. "Oregon, Cal, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, UCLA, and Georgia are the top six and the ones I will make my choice from."

Kyle Jackson has yet to enter all of Malachi's contact information into his cell phone but that could change soon as Kyle looks forward to finally meeting Lewis. "As far as Malachi goes I haven't talked to him much but I'm looking forward to meeting him," said Jackson.

Jackson also had a quick comment on the Gailey coaching situation now that it has found a resolution. "I was glad to see Gailey is back, glad to know this is all over and we can get back to business," said Jackson. Now Kyle can get back to work on what he's been good at… adding onto an already great recruiting class!
